Timeless Wardrobe Staples on Sale

Sale season is the perfect moment to invest in the pieces you’ll reach for all year long. A crisp blue shirt smartens up office looks in July and layers effortlessly under knits and blazers come December; a sculptural wicker clutch transitions from breezy beach dinners to warm weather getaways in winter; and a classic Aran sweater is just as at home thrown over sun-faded denim on cool August nights as it is peeking out from a tailored coat in mid-winter. With each staple marked down now, you can build—or refresh—your forever wardrobe at a fraction of the usual cost.

Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale

I'm not a big Nordstrom girl, but I always scope out the deals on some of my favorite brands during their anniversary sale. This year, they have some fantastic prices on piece from Barbour and Veronica Beard, like this chic take on a barn jacket, and this navy waterproof trenchcoat. I also love this suede bucket bag, this blouse-y floral top and skirt. I already mentioned this crinkle midi skirt which will look amazing with everything from structured tops to big cashmere sweaters and boots. Lastly, only a few left, but this black dress has beautiful gathers in the back, and is a fabulous black tie wedding option for under $200.

Nili Lotan

Nili Lotan is one of my favorite brands for timeless, very high quality closet staples. I've had this cream cable knit turtleneck and this blue ruffle-collared shirt in my cart for months, and just discovered both are on major sale. I have a few of their sweaters and the quality is insane. The sweater reminds me of a favorite aran Grace Kelly wore year round, and I plan to wear it with white chino shorts during chilly summer evenings, and literally everything in the winter. The light blue shirt is a staple you can wear tucked into high waisted jeans, or layered under a cashmere sweater or blazer come fall - the ruffle looks so sweet peeking out of a collar. I had to restrain myself, but also love this, this, and own this beautiful jacket (but mine is white). They make the same styles year after year, so why not snap up your favorites while they're on sale!?

Ann Mashburn

Ann's editorial eye is classic as classic can be, and her sale section is full of timeless pieces that have a little something extra. From the perfect suede driving mocs that look chic with white jeans now, and tweedy blazers later, to this olive eyelet top whose color gives it year-round appeal (love it paired with the matching skirt or your favorite jeans.) Perhaps most exciting, is that this adorable raffia mule is on sale! (See it styled here.)

ME + EM

This brand has become a reader favorite in the last few months and it's easy to see why. Timeless styles with a little something special, the construction and fit are next level. Me + Em piece are always worth it, but especially on sale. For example, this cotton striped sweater that looks its from The Row (but only $150), a paisley maxi dress perfect for your next dinner date, a tailored dress in an eye-catching color that works on vacation or at the office and this fab cropped jacket that works with a shift dress or jeans!

Pamela Munson

One of my favorite straw bags of the summer is finally on sale! It's a great piece to pair with summer dresses as seen here, here and here!) Their whole sale section is worth a look, but two standouts include this lady bag and this tiny tote that would look perfect with a white top and jeans!

Tory Burch

I have Tory pieces from 10 years ago that I still love and wear today. The quality and details are always so special, so snooping around their sale is a great way to build your wardrobe. A few standouts right now include this embellished black dress (wear with slingbacks now, and tights + pumps later), this knit tank (wear with black trousers now and under a blazer later), this sequined skirt and this sublime cashmere tee.
